You have come to this site for one of two reasons: You have an addiction or besetting sin you want to overcome, or you know of someone you care about who has one of these issues. If pewnography is an addiction you need to find a good friend you can trust to talk about it.

If you are in the process of overcoming pewnography you need to stay in close touch with your accountability partner and ask for prayer and support. Overcoming any addiction or besetting sin is a learning process. And, like any learning process it takes time. During that time life can be very frustrating as a result of stumbling. Because when a person stumbles and realizes they have just lost a battle in this war they are fighting they usually feel like no progress has been made. But let’s look at the reality about this battle.

Hebrews 12:1 says, "Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us, Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; . . ."

Do you see the word, “patience?” Rather than kicking yourself for the mistake you just made, remember – be patient. Losing one battle does not lose the war. God is patient with us. He doesn’t stop loving us when we stumble. He knows it take time.

Let's pretend that your besetting sin is like a salesman with a very good line of approach. Whether he is being honest or not, he has an amazing way of talking us into making the purchase. It is EASY for him to make a sale every time. That's how easy this besetting sin sneaks up on us. And that's how quickly we make the purchase. It is as if we were hit from our blind-side. But when this happens, keep in mind that God was watching as the entire process took place.

And, here is an interesting thought to consider about stumbling: Those times when we are broken and bruised as a result of stumbling AGAIN; and when you come to Him knowing you need His forgiveness ONE MORE Time - And knowing you ARE forgiven one more time - - Those are precious times to Him. Those are the times when He gets to see you exactly the way He longs to see each one of us; broken over our sin and falling on our knees in humbleness before Him.

Keep your guard up. Stay in close touch with your accountability partner. Spend time with God daily. All of these are necessary bricks in your wall of defense against pewnography. Keep in mind that it is NOT OK to stumble - it is the wrong thing to do. But you may stumble and fall. When you do, DO NOT GIVE UP the fight. While you’re down and broken, take time to go to Jesus for the forgiveness and strength to keep fighting.
